Creation Care

  • At City Rise St Mark's, we value the deep connection between all living things and the Earth, encouraging a thoughtful appreciation for God's creation. We implement sustainable practices in our church operations, such as reducing energy use, conserving water, and minimising waste. Through our services and teachings, we encourage our congregation to make environmentally conscious choices and embrace their role in caring for creation. We are committed to continually improving our environmental efforts and inspiring others to work towards a more sustainable future.

What are we doing?

  • Waste Management

Around our building, you'll find clearly labelled bins to help you sort your waste into recycling and general waste. By following the labels, we can all support efficient waste management and our sustainability efforts.

  • Single Use

All our café items, such as cups, plates, and cutlery, are compostable and fully break down within 64 weeks.

  • Operations

Our team are consistently working to reduce their environmental impact. They achieve this by extending the lifespan of equipment, choosing easily repairable items, and purchasing second hand where possible.

What can you do?

Each of us can take different steps to care for God’s creation—whether it’s reducing plastic use, making more sustainable food choices, opting for low-emission travel, engaging with your local representatives and groups, or starting conversations with those around you.

Please help us manage waste by following the bin signage at church and don’t forget to bring your keep cup to reduce single-use waste during services.
